Lying about 90 miles northeast of San Francisco,
Sacramento has around
400,000 folks living within the city limits, but there's about 1.5
million in the four county metropolitan area. |
Sacramento is the capital city of California. It was founded in 1849 and is the
oldest incorporated city in California. |
The State Capitol has been the home of the California
Legislature since 1869. The 40 acre grounds are part of the California State Park
system. |

Cathedral
of the Blessed Sacrament, established in 1886.

Luggage sculpture in Baggage Claim area of Terminal A at
Sacramento International Airport.
This airport has the COOLEST logo!
 |
 Awesome postmodern building. |
 Snickers
is a Canine Companions for Independence (CCI)
dog. One of the students was hearing impaired. Snickers helps out by alerting her mistress to various sounds
including telephones, alarm clocks and smoke alarms. |
 Snickers
(at the time) is/was the official mascot of the
California Department of Community Services and
Development. She is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, a type of sheepdog. |
| Don't forget to
check out our new dining out section - a Sacramento restaurant
is included.

We'll be heading back to Sacramento
later this month and hope to grab some photos of
Old Sacramento and maybe even a better shot
of the luggage sculpture at the airport.
The
midi
file you're hearing is the California State
song.
