About Chuck

Chuck hard at work on one of his many web site projects

I am Chuck, a Hammerhead shark. In November of 1997, in the aftermath of family tragedy (the brother and sister-in-law of my cousin Bob, a Great White shark, were killed by fisherhumans leaving their son, Junior, an orphan), I came out to San Diego, California, from my home in Jacksonville, Florida, to help out. I ended up liking it so much I decided to stay....for a couple of years, anyhow.  Then, Bob, Ray, I and "the gang" moved to Austin, Texas where we lived for several years and have settled now in Lincoln, Nebraska, where we are quite happy.

Never fear, there will still be photos of San Diego, though!

I design web sites from my home office. It's great working from home as I can take care of Junior while Bob is away on business. I also sing in the Stuffed Animal Chorus - soon you will be able to hear snippets of our performances at the Skippy's Music Page site.

And, of course, I try to get back and enjoy San Diego as much as possible, armed with my trusty camera. Already I've captured parts of La Jolla Cove, Torrey Pines State Reserve, some East County scenery, and the Aerospace Museum on film and web, and am planning pages on visits to Mt. Soledad, Balboa Park, Point Loma, Scripps Aquarium, and Hotel del Coronado, as

well as other places of interest/ beauty within San Diego County. I have San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park photos developed and ready to scan and fellow Stuffed Animal Chorus members, Zippy and Crunch, will soon have an extensive San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park section within their forthcoming Zoo site.

You may have noticed the conspicuous absence of Sea World on my "to do" list. I, and many of my friends and relatives, have mixed feelings regarding Sea World. While we appreciate the efforts of the scientific arm of the organization, we are uncomfortable with the theme park aspects, feeling the latter leads to exploitation at the expense of education.
